Loved Ones Coalition is a national 501(c)(3) led by people affected by incarceration. We advocate, educate, connect people with resources, support reentry, speak from lived experience, and document federal prison conditions.
Who we are
Built by people who know this system firsthand.
LOC is made up of people who have been incarcerated, people coming home, and families who have lived through it beside them. We understand how confusing and isolating incarceration can be, and we use that experience to help people find answers, speak up and move forward.

Families often face complicated systems with little guidance. LOC connects people with information, education, community, resources and advocacy.
Reentry & Returning Citizens
Our work does not end at release. We connect people preparing to come home and returning citizens with useful information, organizations and opportunities.
Speaking & Institutional Engagement
LOC leaders and members bring lived experience into correctional institutions, conferences, universities, community spaces, panels and media.
Oversight & Documentation
We collect, review and publish testimony, documentation and recurring facility concerns to increase transparency and support responsible follow-up.

LOC reviews testimony, photographs, video, documents, family reports and recurring facility concerns. Our reporting distinguishes what was reported, documented, corroborated, verified, directly observed or analyzed by LOC.
Speaking & inside-prison engagement
Direct experience belongs in the room.
LOC leaders and members participate in educational and community events and, when invited, inside correctional institutions. In 2026, LOC members spoke with incarcerated people at FCI Texarkana about accountability, recovery, family, reentry and life after release.
